Coming home after evacuation makes your own bed, floors, shower curtain and fridge all the more sweet ❤️. Yesterday I drove past the infamous Emerald Bay and stopped to take some photos of this strange time. For once there was no traffic or tourists and I could look at the sky and see the smokey reflections in peace.
We are SO grateful our house is still standing ~ and we’re home!! While we were evacuated I watched the CalFire updates daily for news on the fire in our town.
In a testimony to how hard the local, state and federal crews worked to save our little village, I’m happy to say no homes have been burned in South Lake Tahoe! It is so so so lucky that this is the case. Cabins on Echo Summit and homes in Grizzly Flats and other places were not so lucky.
In sheer ⚡️gratitude and love⚡️ I thought it best to put all of our August donating power towards our local fire crew ~ ⚔️Lake Valley Fire⚔️ (we always donate at the end of the month)! This crew worked tirelessly to protect our town and show CalFire and US Forest Service how it’s done!! SO PROUD. The money goes towards their needs as they continue to work and put this fire out.
Thank you to the moon and back for being here, and making it possible for us to contribute to our earths most pressing concerns! I have been wanting to start donating to a local organization and this is a good way to start as any. Next month I’ll resume donations to the “mutual fund” of charities that cover the globe.
You rock my world 🚀 let’s keep our eyes in the stars, our feet on the ground and our hearts with each other.
