I am always wondering about calling out corporate polluters, such as oil companies and plastic producers, and how best to do that. I want to do this on IG. I think it would be so FUN! ((Insert evil laugh Muwahahahaaaa!!!))
I have tried calling these companies out on IG before – but with only my voice it falls short. What we need is a round of voices, and something that can be easily shared and chimed in on. Would you like me to set up an IG “phone tree”? Where I start us off and tag 5 of you in my IG Story, then I would tag 5 more, and so on, until we get to all of us (those who are willing) in our tribe? That way we would be a round of voices that echoes throughout all of our accounts for a day or more.
I am also hoping your friends/followers/family will also want to chime in and share to their accounts, and perhaps it would be a large thunderous roar for a week!! I think Stories would be the best way to do this, as I could initiate the Roar once a month or more. I’ll set up the IG phone/tag tree, and you all can simply share the post to your stories. If you miss the Roar and you’re tagged you can just message me on IG and I’ll send you the post to share when you’re back online.
As an alternative, for those who don’t have IG, I could send you an action item like a petition you can sign and share to your communities at the same time I start things on IG with the rest of the group.
That way, we can target these companies from a couple different angles whenever it strikes our fancy, and possibly weaken them slowly over time like water over a rock, until their very foundations are crumbling – and have a little fun with it! It’s our online version of spray painting their company headquarters in the middle of the night. It’s our online prank call to their CEO. It’s our casual flash of rebellion while we go on with the rest of our busy lives.
